this sketch has so much life.
the way the lines follow the contours form the shapes and planes of the landscape are wonderfully exciting to feel. and the way others play around on the planes is as fun as it would be run around there in person.
what i see as the most crucial part of this as sketch is how you have identified the darks and lights... if there is a purpose for a preliminary sketch, this has to be it... and since i have seen the painting you did of this we can see that the sketch did it's job.
but more than that (it's a bonus) that the sketch looks great on it's own.
