I see so much from looking at this painting... I am really reminded of how i personally build up the figure in my own drawings... and when I talk with people about drawing I often tell them to let the pencil or the brush run all over the figure as if you were caressing the models flesh with your fingers.

As I look at this painting I feel like I can see every touch that you made on the model... It is so interesting to me because I feel like I can retrace just how your eyes scanned the model's form as you drew it...

We have talked a lot about layers and transparency, and this painting is really a delicious example of it... Seeing through all those layers is like looking through the thin layers of skin, seeing it alive...

Compositionally this brings a tear to my eye... The signature blue background you have is wonderful as always, but that heavy dark brushstroke that starts on her head and runs down to just past her crotch is just delightful as can be. It is as descriptive as it is a solidifying mark that lets us know what a sturdy figure this really is, we can feel her weight because of that line.
